PROCUREMENT / DOCUMENTS
Documents for procurement.
Confirm the model code, installation limits and acceptance criteria before ordering.
1. The exact model
Compare the complete model code in the proposal, product page and manual. Request the matching document version, including mounting orientation, temperature range and connections.
2. Reports for the configuration
A general standard description does not establish device compliance. A test report must match the offered assembly and its connections. Resolve deviations involving extra openings, cables or cover glass before ordering.
3. Site and acceptance
Record glazing, viewing position, sun exposure, installation space and service access. Agree on an expected test outcome for each mandatory requirement. Use actual content and test relevant failures in the pilot.
4. Correct a specification
Enter the affected page, statement and supporting evidence in the correction tool. It creates a local file for you to share and sends no message.
References and standard descriptions
For test procedures, request the full standard and model-specific reports from the supplier.
- BIPM — Principles governing photometry (2019)
Photometric terms and the SI unit of luminance. No recommended brightness figure for display installations.
- EIZO — A basic understanding of touch panels
Manufacturer explanation of sensing principles. Article dated September 2010; performance and trend comparisons are not treated as current. Does not approve a specific assembly.
- Elo — Touch System Programmer’s Guide
Historical manufacturer manual describing an infrared-grid principle. Not current performance evidence or approval of a proposed display.
- EIZO — FlexScan EV2457, LED-backlit LCD example
Manufacturer example showing that LED backlighting and LCD are compatible. Not a product test or recommendation for a proposed signage project.
- IEC 60529 — Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code)
Public standard description for classifying enclosure protection. No specific display was tested. Consult the full standard for test procedures.
- W3C — WCAG 2.2, Target Size (Minimum)
Requirements and exceptions for target sizes in web interfaces. Does not certify a kiosk or this guide as a whole.
- BSI — Setting up a smart home securely
General advice on connected devices, updates and security. Not a signage-specific standard; establish update and access requirements for the particular system.
Checks for shop windows and branch networks
- Shop windows: record glass, reflections, viewing positions and air temperature at the display.
- Branch networks: check content approvals, offline playback, restarts and responsibility for faults.
