GERMANY / REGION AND SITE
Display sites in Germany.
Four regional examples with DWD climate means and questions about glass, sun, moisture and maintenance. Add a context to the project brief and document your actual site there.
Regional data for site questions
Arithmetic means of 30 annual DWD regional area means for 1991–2020, rounded to one decimal. They are not station data, extreme temperatures, forecasts or device operating limits. The selection covers four planning examples, not a complete atlas of Germany.
01 / 1991–2020
Schleswig-Holstein
- Rainfall / year
- 812.8 mm
- Sunshine / year
- 1657.4 h
- Temperature / year
- 9.3 °C
Coastal exposure is an additional site question, not a feature of every project in the state.
Ask within the project
For a coastal hotel wayfinding display, ask a specialist to assess exposure, wind-related mounting requirements, moisture and any salt exposure. Request protection and cleaning-access evidence for the actual configuration.

Brandenburg / Berlin
- Rainfall / year
- 578.9 mm
- Sunshine / year
- 1740.8 h
- Temperature / year
- 9.7 °C
The DWD description distinguishes continental influence and the urban heat-island effect.
Ask within the project
For a Berlin storefront, sample glass, direct sun and real prices at difficult times of day. Plan warm and cold restart checks only within documented model conditions.

Baden-Württemberg
- Rainfall / year
- 952.6 mm
- Sunshine / year
- 1738.4 h
- Temperature / year
- 9.2 °C
The DWD report explicitly distinguishes Rhine and Neckar lowlands from Black Forest elevations.
Ask within the project
For a museum entrance, record elevation and exposure, check shade and reflections, and secure seasonal maintenance access. The state mean does not replace site measurements.

Bavaria
- Rainfall / year
- 934.8 mm
- Sunshine / year
- 1705.1 h
- Temperature / year
- 8.6 °C
The DWD report distinguishes drier northern areas from cooler, wetter areas towards the Alps.
Ask within the project
For hotel or visitor wayfinding, specify the location rather than “Bavaria.” Check winter access, cleaning, glass and interaction with intended users; do not infer frost approval from a climate mean.
